Why We Love Where We Call Home.

Fort Wayne, IN — The place One Eleven Design established its roots in 2001 and here’s why.

Being the second largest city in Indiana, Fort Wayne is sometime forgotten by the Native Hoosier. However, Fort Wayne is ranked higher than Indianapolis in the best places to live. With a revitalized downtown, you can’t beat the easy commutes and short drives to surrounding major cities like Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and more.

According to the IndyStar on the US News & World Report’s annual ranking of best place, “Fort Wayne was ranked No. 40, a whole 15 spots ahead of Indianapolis. The second-most populated city in the state beat out Indianapolis in the value and quality of life categories, garnering praise for its low cost of living and quiet neighborhoods. Its overall score on the report was a 6.7/10, edging Indy’s 6.6/10.”

But why do we love the city we call home?

You may recognize the house hold names Vera Bradley, Sweetwater Sound and DeBrand Fine Chocolates to name a few and have contributed to the growth of Fort Wayne as a whole.

A very unique aspect of Fort Wayne life are the yearly festivals: 3 Rivers Festival, Johnny Appleseed, Germanfest, Greekfest, Ribfest and more, downtown takes pride in celebrating and experiencing different cultures. Festival offseason? The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Science Central, Museum of Art, Botanical Gardens are other attractions perfect for some fun. Sports fanatic? Watch the TinCaps at Parkview Field, Komet Hockey and Mad Ants basketball at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum and you can even support the local collegiate athletics.
